Drew Strand

Drew was born and raised in southwest Michigan and spends his summers, winters, springs, and falls being outside whenever he can. He has a love for lakes, particularly great ones, and views of the mountains. Drew loves to draw, and is constantly looking to nature for inspiration. He takes a sketchbook wherever he goes, so he can draw what he sees, or what is just out of sight. Wondering what creatures might live in the crevasses of a mountain, under a rock, or down in a hole is how Drew fills the pages of his sketchbook, and the stories of going to find out are often unforgettable. Drew went to Kendall College of Art and Design for a BFA in Digital Art and Design, with a focus on entertainment. He also loves to watch movies, read books, play any sort of game (sports, video games, card games, board games, all of it!), and make music. Drew believes that being out in nature and observing the world around you is what builds a strong imagination, and he is extremely excited to be working with kids this summer to do just that. This will be Drew’s second summer at Teton Science Schools.
