As a Northern California native, Izzy Burns grew up amongst the redwoods and by the ocean. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management and Protection from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where she served as a Teach for America corps member while earning her Master of Education in Instructional Practice at Lipscomb University. She has been a high school science teacher for four years, most recently at The Ensworth School in Nashville. She hopes that by joining the summer staff at TSS, she can help connect kids to the natural world and support instructors in providing the best possible experience to campers. Having fun is her prerogative, so when she is not teaching, she is reading, crocheting, baking, or enjoying all the world has to offer.
