The Teacher Learning Center is thrilled to announce four workshops coming up this summer and next fall are now open for sign-up from Wyoming teachers and school leaders. Here’s an overview of what’s available:
- Wyoming Stream TeamJuly 15-20, 2012 at Teton Science Schools’ Kelly CampusThis classroom and field-based course is available to residents of Wyoming and residents of watersheds in neighboring states. The program focuses on training in water quality monitoring and includes monitoring supplies, meals, lodging, and two University of Wyoming credits.
- Place-Based Education Workshop SeriesSeptember 20-23, 2012 and Spring 2013 at The Murie CenterTeton Science Schools and The Murie Center are collaborating to bring a multi-disciplinary, place-based training to teachers throughout Wyoming.
- Place-Based Teaching for Lower Elementary TeachersOctober 4-7, 2012 at Teton Science Schools’ Jackson CampusTeton Science Schools will offer training on place-based education for Wyoming kindergarten through 2nd grade teachers. The training will prepare teac hers to take students outside and into their community.
- Small Schools ConferenceNovember 1-4, 2012 at Teton Science Schools’ Jackson CampusThe Wyoming Small Schools Conference will provide an opportunity for networking and collaboration between teachers and school leaders in small schools.
