Mountain Academy Third and Fourth Graders Nordic Ski to Lunch

At Mountain Academy, we believe in the power of outdoor education to inspire adventure and learning in the natural world. Recently, our third- and fourth-grade students had a fun and exciting experience as part of their Outdoor Education class—Nordic skiing to lunch!

The students have been learning how to cross-country ski, and on several occasions, they’ve put their newfound skills to the test by skiing from the classroom to the dining lodge. This unique method of transportation not only gets them active and outside, but it also offers an opportunity to explore nature in a fun, challenging way.

Cross-country skiing encourages students to build strength, coordination, and perseverance, all while sharing meaningful experiences with their classmates. Whether they’re gliding through snowy trails or helping each other along the way, it’s a chance for them to connect with the outdoors and each other.

This hands-on experience fosters a love of nature, teamwork, and physical activity, making it an unforgettable part of their learning journey. We’re excited to see how these young skiers continue to grow and challenge themselves in the months ahead!
