Project Description
Kindergarten classes will visit several local businesses to see what services are offered and invite local business owners into their classrooms to explain what their business provides for the community. There are 7 local restaurants in the business park and each class will choose one they are interested in learning more about to focus on. They will create a map to show what is available in the community, write reviews, review menus, and look for healthy options available. Students will present their findings to other students and create posters or pamphlets about what they learned to share.
How did this positively impact the community? How was it shared?
It makes students aware of local businesses and how they positively impact our community. This project is still in progress, but they hope to write jingles for some of the businesses and create art to be displayed in the local business. There is a variety of cultures represented in the businesses and the students will connect to different cultures through the food and events at the local restaurants.
