David grew up exploring the mixed hardwood forests and inland seas of the Upper Midwest before first visiting Greater Yellowstone as a teenager. David taught in classrooms and in the field, completed a Professional Residency in Environmental Education, and earned a Master of Science in Natural Science Education. David is an avid skier, climber, hiker, trail runner, and forager and 2025 will be his 5th season guiding in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
