Sophie grew up in Sharon, Massachusetts and graduated from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine in May 2023 with a degree in biology. She developed a passion for science education as she taught environmental science, sustainability, and marine biology on a small island off the coast of Maine and fell in love with Wyoming mountains through her work as a wrangler on a horse ranch near Cody. Sophie worked with TSS as an Americorps member in fall 2023 and is excited to continue on as a field instructor in 2024! She loves TSS’ place-based education model, and she appreciates how a spark of curiosity in the surrounding ecosystem can inspire meaningful exploration, action, and change. In her free time, Sophie loves to trail run, ski, hike, bake, and camp.
