34 years after wrapping up his studies as a Teton Science Schools summer High School Field Ecology student, TSS alumnus Len Carlman has joined the staff as Chief Philanthropy Officer. Between then and now he received his undergraduate and law degrees, guided commercial float trips in the Snake River Canyon, served for 9 years as staff and Executive Director of the Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance, worked 16 years as a practicing Wyoming lawyer with the firm Hess Carlman & D’Amours, married Anne Ladd with whom he has shepherded their two children, Reed (11) and Madeline (15) as Journeys School students, and served 6 years on the Science Schools’ Board of Directors.
Len says of his new appointment: “The timing works for both the Science Schools and me. I’m ready for a new challenge, and TSS is in the midst of its Comprehensive Campaign. The career move puts butterflies in my stomach, but that’s part of the excitement too!”
