Who Needs The Lamar Valley When You Have Jackson Hole

Remember when watching wolves and bears required a trip to the Lamar Valley of Yellowstone. While the Lamar Valley is still the best place to reliably see wolves and bears, Jackson Hole has come into its own for wildlife observation. Confirmed reports of wolves on TSS Conservation Research Center lands, mountain lions in town and grizzly bears around the Kelly Campus demonstrates the amazing wildlife habitats of Jackson Hole. The last several days have provided incredible wolf viewing. Valentine’s Day is often the symbolic beginning of the canid breeding season. This morning sure hit the mark. We were privileged to be voyeurs in the world of the wolf. Watching several wolves breeding, while 14 other wolves paraded around the heart of the elk refuge is truly amazing. If you have the chance take a moment look and listen for these amazing neighbors.
