Siena Yannotti

Siena Yannotti

Siena Yannotti (she/her) is a recent graduate of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY, where she received a B.S. in Environmental Science with a double major in Dance with a concentration in Performance and Choreography. Some of Siena’s notable experiences include: interning with The Soil Inventory Project in Newport, RI, to assess the impacts of regenerative farming practices on soil health, studying abroad at the Center for Climate and Sustainable Futures in Paro, Bhutan, and completing a thesis on soil and forest health in relation to prescribed burns in the Adirondacks. She chose to become an AmeriCorps member at TSS because she wants to learn more about the United States' Ecosystems and History and to be a catalyst for students’ STEM education. In her free time, Siena loves to dance, read, draw, and journal, basically any opportunity to learn new skills and practice her creativity.

Elsie grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from McGill University with a joint degree in Environment and Gender, Sexuality, Feminist, and Social Justice Studies. Her interests in environmental justice and immigration policy have led her to study and work in Panama, Peru, Costa Rica, and at the US-Mexico border in Arizona and New Mexico. She has worked in education as a daycare teacher, civic engagement program leader, tutor, and nature art teacher. Having benefited from field-based education programs as a student, she is passionate about creating learning environments that build meaningful connections to the places we inhabit and the living things we share them with. She is excited to join the TSS Americorps crew and learn more about the ecology of the Tetons and place-based education! In her free time, Elsie likes crafting (currently into linoprinting and collaging), climbing, running, and hiking!

Eva is a student at The University of the South: Sewanee, where she studies International Sustainability and French. Passionate about connecting people to places, she spent this past summer working with the Sewanee Outing Program, helping plan and lead the university’s PRE freshman orientation experience. Eva is driven by a deep commitment to service, which led her to serve with AmeriCorps. She finds purpose in strengthening her community and creating opportunities for others to grow through shared experiences. On campus, she also serves as the newly elected president of her sorority, where she is excited to foster leadership, sisterhood, and meaningful engagement among members. In her free time, Eva enjoys biking, teaching fitness classes, and listening to folks play music. She's currently working on mastering the art of juggling.

My name is Madison (Maddi) Tidlund. I graduated from Snow College with an Associate of Science. I am currently attending Utah Valley University to pursue my degree in Elementary Education. I have worked in a kindergarten classroom for 3 years and at a local candy store. I also worked in Yellowstone National Park last summer! I use she/her pronouns. I chose to be an AmeriCorps member because I love working with kids and being outside, and this combines both! In my free time, I like to listen to music, go to the movies, and hike!

Ellie grew up in Massachusetts, outside of Boston, and is currently a student at Barnard College of Columbia University, studying Neuroscience & Behavior. At Barnard, she is on the executive board of the Barnard/Columbia chapter of Sprout Up, a nonprofit that provides college-student-led environmental education programs to 1st- and 2nd-graders in local Title I NYC public schools. Ellie first discovered her love for environmental education and conservation during her NOLS month-long backpacking course in 2021 and has continued to grow her interest through teaching with Sprout Up. She is excited to return to the West and join Teton Science Schools to inspire STEM literacy and teach children to love and care for the environment. In her free time, Ellie enjoys knitting, baking, listening to music, reading, and exploring new places.

Ella Spremulli grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and journeyed south to Ohio University to receive her Bachelor's Degree. She is a recent graduate with a degree in Communication Studies. While earning her Bachelor's, Ella developed a passion for environmental health and began pursuing place-based education in her area. Last summer, she served with Rural Action in Southeast Ohio as an outdoor educator and found deep meaning in sharing knowledge in the nearby creeks and fields. Ella chose TSS because of her love for the outdoors, her desire to pursue environmental learning, and her desire to step outside her comfort zone! In her free time, Ella enjoys climbing, reading, scrapbooking, and hiking.

Briana Pond (she/her) is from Nashville, Tennessee, and graduated this May from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, with a degree in Environment and Sustainability. She previously worked as an after-school mentor at the Cumberland Forest School in Sewanee, where she supported elementary students in outdoor, nature-based learning. Also, as a Conservation Aid Intern at the Cahaba River Coalition in Birmingham, Alabama, assisting with habitat restoration and environmental education on the river. Through these roles, Briana developed a strong interest in fostering environmental awareness and hands-on learning for students. Briana chose to become an AmeriCorps member at TSS because she is excited to continue growing and gaining experience in outdoor education. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, swimming, reading, and spending time outdoors exploring nature with friends.

Claire’s interest in environmentalism coalesced at American University, where she graduated with a BA in Sociology, focusing on political and social change, and minored in Communications and Sustainability. During college, she was involved with American University’s Edible Campus Initiative, which was designed to implement urban agriculture on campus and provide free produce to the community. Since graduation, she has worked for a nonprofit that supports individuals with disabilities. In addition, she became a certified Arlington Regional Master Naturalist and an Arlington County Park and Recreation Commissioner as avenues for deepening her involvement in local climate action. Originally from Washington DC, she is excited to experience Wyoming and dive into environmental education with the TSS team. In her free time, she loves hiking, photography, live music, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Hi! My name is Kaiulani Larson, and I studied Environmental Economics and Policy, as well as English, at UC Berkeley! My field of work is in sustainability and social equity. I am excited to be an AmeriCorps member at TSS because I attended place-based education programs as a kid, and they shaped the perspectives I have now! In my free time, I like to hike, run, ski, sew, crochet, and play music! I am excited to meet everyone!

Whitney is entering her senior year at the University of Denver, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Sustainability Science with a minor in Leadership Studies. Through both her academic and professional experiences, she has developed a passion for outdoor education, environmental stewardship, and experiential learning. Prior to joining Teton Science Schools as an AmeriCorps member, Whitney worked on an oyster boat in New Hampshire, facilitated backpacking and rock climbing courses in the Sierra Nevadas with Outward Bound, and conducted research in a laboratory studying crickets. She chose to serve with TSS to help increase STEM literacy for the next generation while continuing to build community, spend time outdoors, and expand her technical outdoor skills. In her free time, Whitney enjoys climbing, backpacking, exploring new trails, and spending time outside listening to music with friends.

Elena is originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, and just graduated from Bowdoin College in Maine. She majored in Earth and Oceanographic Sciences and played ice hockey at Bowdoin. This past summer, she worked as an intern for the Huron River Watershed Council in Ann Arbor and conducted a dam removal project, river health monitoring, and environmental education for YMCA summer camps. Through her coursework at Bowdoin, she gained research experience and is excited to learn and do more. Her passion for conservation, environmental education, and earth sciences drove her to the TSS AmeriCorps program, where she could learn in such a unique park system and teach individuals along the way. In her free time, she enjoys all outdoor activities, playing music on the guitar and violin, listening to live music, and having bonfires with friends!

Meg grew up on Long Island, New York, where spending summers camping as a child fostered an early and lasting appreciation for the natural world. She graduated from the University at Albany in 2022 and has since pursued a variety of seasonal conservation and education roles. Meg has worked with Audubon on shorebird monitoring and public education outreach, with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation on sampling and advocating for the water quality of our lakes, and, most recently, with the National Park Service in Virginia. There, she worked on invasive plant management and endangered bird species. Meg is excited to work in the West for the first time and to further develop their skills working on raptor conservation with the Teton Raptor Center. Off-trail skills include dedicated birding breaks, camping in most weather, knitting wherever possible, and befriending any nearby cats.
